Cobras Dethrone Royals in 3-0 Sweep

CHARLOTTE, N.C.- The Coker men's volleyball team took to the road in a matchup against the Royals of Queens University of Charlotte. Having their way, the Cobras swept the home squad 3-0 (25-18, 25-23, 25-18).

For the second straight match, Stephen Porras finished with 18 kills and Gabriel Castro with 14. Castro hit a scorching .440 and had nine digs in the three sets. Porras added two assists, one service ace, nine digs, and one block assist. Parker Oldham had season-high three aces, with two digs. Gary Baker collected one assist with six digs. Joao Victor Santos hit a phenomenal .417 on his seven kills, adding two aces and four digs. Aleksa Bijelic was perfect 3-3 on kills alongside 35 assists, two aces, and three digs. James Fulton finished with three kills, one ace, two digs, and one block assist.

The team hit an outstanding .356 for the match and .429 in the third set.

The Cobras will come home for their next match on Tuesday (Jan. 23) night against the Knights of St. Andrews. This will be the home opener and is scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m.
