Cabral's 22 Kills Lead Cobras to 3-1 win over Crusaders

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker men's volleyball team picked up a convincing 3-1 victory over the North Greenville University Crusaders on Tuesday (Mar. 24) night.

The Cobras would come out strong, taking an early 6-2 lead in the first set. However, North Greenville would rally and eventually take the set with a score of 25-20. The two teams would trade points in set two and be deadlocked at 16-all, but a 9-3 run by Coker would capture the set for the home team.

The Crusaders jumped out to an early 9-5 lead in the third set, but Coker would not go away lightly, mounting a 4-0 run to knot the game at 9-all. The Cobras would capitalize on the run and eventually take a 14-11 lead midway through the set. Coker would eventually take a 2-1 match lead following a 25-20 set three win.

Set four would be all Coker as they closed out the match with a 25-20 set four victory to notch a 3-1 match win.

Leading the way was Artur Cabral with a double-double performance of 22 kills and 10 digs to go along with three service aces, while Luke Hansen added 16 kills and six digs. Aleksa Bijelic paced the offense with 33 assists and Colton Parsons added 10 assists and three service aces.

Coker will play host to Warner University in its next match on Friday (Mar. 27). The match is scheduled for a 7 p.m. start.
