Lions Sneak Past Cobras in Five

FRANKLIN SPRINGS, GA. – The Coker men's volleyball team fell, 3-2, to the Lions of Emmanuel (Ga.) College on Saturday (Feb. 28) afternoon.

Coker would take sets one and three, 25-23 and 25-22, while Emmanuel captured sets two and four with scores of 25-20 and 25-21. In the decisive fifth set, the Cobras would come up just short and fall 15-12.

Artur Cabral led the offense with 18 kills and nine digs, while Jared Geizer notched a double-double with 12 kills and 11 digs. Defensively, Liam Flaherty led Coker with 11 digs and Aleksa Bijelic paced the offense with 44 assists.

The Cobras will return home for a doubleheader against Holy Names University and Scared Heart University on Saturday (Mar. 7). The first match is scheduled for a 3 p.m. start.
