Cobras and Bulldogs to Battle in Men's Volleyball

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker Cobra men's volleyball team will be back in action on Tuesday (Feb. 10) when they host the Barton Bulldogs. Live stats and broadcast will be available at www.cokercobras.com.

Coker comes into the match ranked No. 3 in the nation in aces per set. The Cobras average 1.79 aces per set, and Artur Cabral is ranked No. 2 in the nation with 0.58 aces per set. Cabral, the Cobras' kill leader with 80, is also ranked in the top 25 in points per set and in the top 50 in kills per set.

The last time out the Cobras went 1-1 in their tri-match with the University of Charleston and Alderson-Broaddus, defeating Charleston, 3-0. Against Charleston Luke Hansen set a record for service aces in a match with five, while as a team the Cobras set a single-match record for total blocks with 17.

The Bulldogs come Hartsville, sporting a 3-7 record. In their last outing they picked up a 3-1 victory over Lees-McRae. Junior outside hitter Pierre Tang-Taye leads the offense with 125 kills, while senior libero Mike McMahon has a team leading 98 digs.

The match is set to begin at 7 p.m. at Coker's DeLoach Center. Tickets are $15 for reserved seats, $5 dollars for adults, $3 dollars for students, and free for all Coker students, faculty and staff.
