Coker Drops Heartbreaker to Erskine 3-2

DUE WEST, S.C. – The Coker men's volleyball team suffered a heartbreaking 3-2 loss to Erskine College on Thursday (Mar. 27) evening.

The Cobras fell behind 1-0 after a 25-13 loss in the first set of the match. They stormed back with back-to-back victories in sets two and three, 25-23 and 25-22. In a tightly contested fourth set, it was Erskine that came out on top thanks to a 6-1 run at the end of the set.

The fifth and final set was a battle to the very end once again. Coker held a narrow 14-13 lead, but the Flying Fleet put away three straight points to take home the 16-14 victory and the 3-2 win.

Luke Hansen and Ricardo Ferrer led the way for the Cobras. Hansen had a double-double of 13 kills and 10 digs, while Ferrer had a double-double of 33 assists and 13 digs. Leshon Alexander added 10 kills and Will Brewer had 11 digs.

The Cobras will return to the court on Friday, April 4 and Saturday, April 5 for a for their final matches of the season at Warner University.
