Coker and Barton Square Off in Matchup of Former Conference Rivals

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker men's volleyball team will play host to former Conference Carolinas rival Barton College on Wednesday (Feb. 12). First serve is scheduled for 7 p.m. in the Timberlake-Lawton Gymnasium with live coverage of the match online at www.cokercobras.com

The Cobras have been led offensively by Jared Geizer's 99 kills, which is good for a 3.41 kills per set average. He has also compiled 31 digs and 12 total blocks. Setting the table for majority of Geizer's kills has been Ricardo Ferrer, who has a team-high 385 assists. Cooper Lyon's 75 digs lead the team defensively.

Barton enters the contest with a record of 3-7. The Bulldogs are won their most recent contest, but are 0-5 on the road this season. Barton will be counting on the duo of Zach McCalla and Chad Stanback Jr. to lead them against the Cobras. McCalla leads the team with 135 kills, while Stanback Jr. is second with 98.

Tickets for Thursday's match can be purchased at the door for $5 dollars for adults, $3 dollars for students, and are free to all Coker students, faculty, and staff.
