Coker Men's Tennis Sweeps Carson-Newman 7-0

HARTSVILLE, S.C. -- The Coker College men's tennis team defeated Carson-Newman 7-0 in South Atlantic Conference action on Saturday (Mar. 23).

Pablo Gonzalo-Saul continued his strong play, winning his third singles match in a row. Gonazlo-Saul won both his #3 doubles match (6-2) with teammate Hunter Horton, and then his #6 singles match (6-1, 6-3) to improve his singles record to 7-4 on the season.

The Cobras swept the singles matches with Melwin Krall winning in #1 singles (6-4, 6-4), Horton in #2 singles (7-6, 6-4), Justus Lehmann in #3 singles (6-3, 6-4), Max Sturgess in #4 singles (6-4, 6-4), and Isaac MacMillan in #5 singles (6-4, 6-2).

Lehmann and MacMillan combined for a #2 doubles victory to help the Cobras win the doubles point as well.

Coker will be back in action on Monday (Mar. 25) when they face Lenoir-Rhyne in another South Atlantic Conference contest. Matches are set to begin at 2:00 p.m.
