Cobras Strong in Doubles Play, But Fall to Catawba in SAC Opener

SALISBURY, N.C. -- The Coker College men's tennis team fell to Catawba 5-2 in their South Atlantic Conference opener on Tuesday (Mar. 12).

Justus Lehmann and Isaac MacMillan combined for a 7-6 victory in #2 doubles, and Hunter Horton and Pablo Gonzalo-Saul pulled out a 6-1 victory in #3 doubles play, giving the Cobras the doubles point to start the contest.

Melwin Krall was victorious in #1 singles, downing Jack Joel 7-5, 6-1. Krall improved to 5-4 in #1 singles play on the season.

The Cobras will be back in action on Saturday (Mar. 16) when they visit Tusculum for more South Atlantic Conference action. Matches are scheduled to start at 10:00 a.m.
