Krall, Gonzalo-Saul Lead Coker Men's Tennis over Edinboro at Spring TennisFest

HILTON HEAD, S.C. -- The Coker College men's tennis team defeated Edinboro 5-1 on Thursday (Mar. 7) at the Spring TennisFest.

Melwin Krall won this third straight #1 singles match, defeating Mateus Santos 6-3, 6-2, while Pablo Gonzalo-Saul extended his winning streak to four games with a 7-6, 6-1 victory in #6 singles.

Krall teamed with Max Sturgess to win #1 doubles (6-2), and Hunter Horton and Gonzalo-Saul combined for a 6-4 victory in #3 doubles, giving Coker the doubles points in the match.

Krall, Horton, Gonzalo-Saul, and Justus Lehmann all won their singles matches, with Lehmann pulling out a 6-2, 2-6, 10-3 victory in #3 singles. Sturgess was leading 7-5, 5-4 in his #4 singles match before the match was left unfinished due to time constraints.

The Cobras will be back in action on Tuesday (Mar. 12) when they open up South Atlantic Conference play at Catawba. Match time is set for 1:00 p.m.
