Simpson Signs Nine to 2018-19 Men's Tennis Roster

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – Coker College Head Men's Tennis Coach Tom Simpson has announced the signing of nine new recruits to the 2018-19 men's tennis team. The Cobras finished 11-11 overall last season, improving their win total by three matches from the previous season.

The full list of recruits includes Bradley Bomar, Mitchell Davies, Eli Dykema, Pablo Gonzalo-Saul, Melwin Krall, Isaac MacMillan, Max Sturgess, Stephen Wills, and Fabrizio Tucci.

"This is going to be an exciting year for the Cobras men's tennis team," stated Simpson. "We will have nine freshman and two juniors on the team battling for starting positions to compete in the toughest region in the country."

Bomar is a freshman from Easley High School in Easley, South Carolina. He played tennis for the Greenwave, earning MVP and All-Region honors. He's the son of Chuck and Amy Bomar, and he plans to major in business administration.

Davies is a freshman from Oceanside Collegiate Academy in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. Davies played both tennis and football for the Sharks. He's the son of Joseph and Susan Davies, and he plans to major in business.

Dykema is a freshman from Cleveland, Ohio. Eli played tennis at Heritage Academy, and is currently undecided on his major. He's the son of Alex and Jennifer Dykema.

Gonzalo-Saul is a freshman from Bad Soden, Germany. He's the son of Antonio Gonzalo Bravo and Christina Saul, and he plans to major in business administration.

Krall is a freshman from Hamburg, Germany where he played both soccer and tennis. He's the son of Michael and Claudia Krall, and plans to major in business administration.

Sturgess is a freshman from London, England where he was the Independent Schools Tennis Championship Winner. He's the son of Jeremy and Nicola Sturgess, and plans to major in business.

Tucci is a junior transfer from Onondaga Community College in Syracuse, New York. Fabrizio received the Pinnacle Award, SUNY Chancellor's Award, and SUNY Chancellor's Scholar Athlete Award while at Onondaga. He's the son of Flaviano Tucci and Belkys Suarez, and plans to major in sports communication.

Wills is a freshman from Summerville High School in Summerville, South Carolina. Stephen received All-Region honors twice while playing tennis for the Greenwave. He's the son of Michael Wills and Anne Collinson, and plans to major in business.

"I believe the skill set, determination, and athleticism of this freshman class will be one of the strongest incoming classes we've ever had," stated Simpson. "It will be fun to help this group of players to grow their game and also as men."
