Men’s Tennis Hosts East Florida State College Thursday Afternoon

HARTSVILLE, S.C. - The Coker College men's tennis team (8-3) will host the visiting East Florida State College Titans Thursday (Mar. 15) at 2 p.m. The Cobras bring a three-match win streak into tomorrow's contest against the NJCAA member Titans.

The Cobras last took the court back on Mar. 10 when they earned their first victory over Tusculum in program history. The Cobras defeated the Pioneers 5-4 to improve to 8-3 overall and 1-0 in the SAC.

Heading into tomorrow's match, Mark Watt and Justus Lehman lead the Navy and Gold in singles play. Watt currently holds an impressive 10-1 record at the No. 1 position and Lehman boasts an 8-2 record, collecting five wins at the No. 5 spot and three wins at No. 6 singles. In addition, Hunter Horton has earned an 8-3 record at No. 2 singles and Dominic Allan has posted a 4-3 record competing in the No. 4, No. 5, and No. 6 slots.

In doubles play, Horton and Lehman have recorded a team-best 9-2 record at No. 2 doubles. Felix Schweyer and Allan is the other Coker duo with a winning record in doubles play, posting a 6-2 record at No. 3 doubles. Additionally, Watt and Henrik Hellbe currently have a 6-5 mark at No. 1 doubles.

East Florida State College heads into tomorrow's match with a 0-2 record.

As mentioned, opening serve is set for 2 p.m. at the Coker Tennis Courts.
