ROCK HILL, S.C. - Coker's Mark Watt has been named the South Atlantic Conference AstroTurf Men's Tennis Player of the Week for matches played Mar. 5-11, the League announced today.
Watt, a senior from Glasgow, Scotland, led the Cobras to a 2-0 record last week, while winning both his No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles matches. He defeated his opponent from Tiffin 6-0, 7-6 and then was victorious against Tusculum, 6-7, 6-1, 6-2. Watt's win over Tusculum gave the Cobras their first-ever win over the Pioneers in program history. Watt has improved his singles record to a team-best 10-1 mark on the season.
This is Watt's second Player of the Week selection this year. Watt is a business major and is the son of Colette and Mark Watt.
