Coker Men's Tennis Announces Additions to Recruiting Class

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – Coker College men's tennis coach Tom Simpson has announced the additions of Dom Allan, Simon Bergbom, Felix Schweyer, Mark Watt and Austin Williams to the 2014-15 recruiting class. All five will join the Cobras beginning in the fall of 2014.

 

"This year's recruiting class adds a lot of depth to our team on and off the court," said Simpson. "These five young men are such well-rounded individuals and players, and adding that to a team that already succeeds on and off the court is amazing."

 

Allan hails from Marietta, Ga., where he attends Pope High School. Allan was named the Greyhounds' team MVP in 2012.

 

Dom is the son of Lisa Bento.

 

Bergbom is from Sollentuna, Stockholm, Sweden, where he attends Ava Gymnasium. A standout tennis player, Bergbom was named student-athlete of the year in 2012.

 

Simon is the son of Kenneth Bergbom and Pernilla Anglered.

 

Schweyer comes to Coker from Mering, Bavaria, Germany, where he is a two-sport athlete in tennis and soccer at Maria-Theresia-Gymnasium.

 

Felix is the son of Jakob Schweyer and Angelika Littich-Schweyer.

 

Watt is from Glasgow, Renfrewshire, UK, where he was a standout tennis player at Trinity High School.

 

Mark is the son of Mark and Colette Watt.

 

Williams is from Weston, Fla., where he competes in high school tennis, while being homeschooled.

 

Austin is the son of Warren and Trish Williams.
