Sizeland's Streak Moves to Seven as No. 36 Cobras Blank Eagles 9-0

JEFFERSON CITY, TENN. – The No. 36 nationally ranked Coker men's tennis team picked up a 9-0 victory against the Carson-Newman College Eagles on Friday (Mar. 14) in South Atlantic Conference action. The win moves the Navy and Yellow to 3-1 in SAC competition.

After sweeping through doubles with scores of 8-4, 8-5 and 8-3, the Cobras took care of business in singles. The trio of Andre Staab, Tom Sizeland and Martin Moncayo all improved to 4-0 in conference play with straight-set wins at No. 1, No. 2 and No. 5 singles, respectively. Sizeland's win also extended his singles winning streak to seven matches, with him only dropping one set during the streak. William Marrafao won at No. 3 singles 2-6, 6-2, 6-2, while James Corfield notched a 6-2, 6-0 straight-set victory at No. 4 singles. Rounding out the wins for Coker was Zach Grooms with a 6-2, 4-6, 10-7 win at No. 6 singles.

The Cobras will return to the court tomorrow (Mar. 15) for a SAC showdown with Lincoln Memorial University. The match is scheduled for a 1 p.m. start.
