Coker Men Topple King 7-2

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Cobras extended their winning streak to three with a 7-2 win over King University on Sunday (March 3) in Conference Carolinas men's tennis action. Coker moves to 5-2 overall and 2-0 in league play with the win. 

Coker took a 2-1 lead after doubles thanks to a pair of hard fought wins at No. 1 and No. 3. Andre Staab and George Handy earned an 8-6 win at No. 1, while James Corfield and Martin Moncayo were victorious at No. 3, 8-3.

The Cobras continued their solid play into singles action winning five of six singles matches. Tom Sizeland and William Marrafao played two of the toughest matches of the day, earning wins at No. 2 and No. 4. Sizeland won at No. 2, winning 6-1, 7-6 (7-0), while Marrafao picked up the win at No. 4 in a three-set battle, winning 6-2, 5-7, 10-1.

The Cobras will look to continue their winning ways in their third home match in a row on Monday (March 4) against Barton at 2:30 p.m.
