Men’s Soccer Comeback Falls Short in NCAA Opening Round
WEST PALM BEACH, FL - The Coker University men’s soccer team fell to #7 seeded Nova Southeastern in the opening round of the NCAA tournament today (Nov. 19) by a score of 3-2, ending the teams history-making season.

The Cobras would get on the board first when Che Richards would take a ball of a Sharks defender, sending it up the field to Jacques Fokam-Sandeu who found an open Markous Touroukis who sent a shot flying past Nova Southeastern's keeper to give Coker the 1-0 lead in the 28th minute of the match.
Coker would take their 1-0 lead into halftime.
The Shark's offense would come alive in the second half, scoring three goals in the second half. The Sharks would get the equalizer in the 53rd minute before getting the go-ahead goal in the 68th minute of play. Nova Southeastern would score once more in the 76th minute of the match, putting the Sharks up 3-1.
Hugo Jonsson's header from Lukas Berntsson would find the back of the Shark's net in the 83rd minute to bring Coker within one with under 10 minutes to play in the match. Nova Southeastern's defense would hold strong, preventing Coker from netting the equalizer and would win the match 3-2.
Jasper Rump (12-7-2) earned a career-best 12 saves in the match. Nova Southeastern will go on to play #2 seeded Palm Beach Atlantic on Sunday.
