FULL SOUTH ATLANTIC CONFERENCE RELEASE

ROCK HILL, S.C. – Coker University men's soccer players Christian Provenzano, Jacques Fokam-Sandeu, and Robi Obrstar were named to the 2019 All-South Atlantic Conference teams, the league announced on Wednesday (Nov. 13). Provenzano and Fokam-Sandeu received first team honors at the midfield and forward position, respectively. Obrstar was selected to the second team as a defender.

Provenzano, a native of Bonassola, Italy, currently has 13 goals and 35 points so far this season, both are the second most in the conference. His nine assists on the season leads the SAC, with two of his assists coming in the 5-1 victory over Carson-Newman in the quarterfinals. Christian was named the SAC AstroTurf Offensive Player of the Week for matches played between Sept. 23 – Sept. 29, and was awarded the Coker University SPC Credit-Union Student Athlete of the Month for September. The Cobras are 9-2 this season in matches Provenzano has scored or assisted on a goal.

Fokam-Sandeu, a native of Paris, France, has scored eight goals with three assists during his freshman season. His total of six goals is sixth in the conference. Jacques and Christian have been a dynamic duo for the Cobras offensively, combining to score 21 of Coker's 39 goals this season. Fokam-Sandeu scored twice in the Cobras near upset victory over nationally ranked No. 25 Wingate on Sept. 18. He has two goals and one assist during the Cobras' current three-match winning streak.

Obrstar, a native of Koper, Slovenia, has scored three goals with one assist, while being the anchor of the Cobras' defense. Robi has been a leader of the back line throughout the season, guiding the Cobras to five shutouts, the most since the 2013 season. His best individual defensive performances came in the victories against nationally ranked No. 16 Lander University on Sept. 25, and against number one seed Carson-Newman in the SAC quarterfinals.

"This is a very well deserved recognition for Christian, Jacques, and Robi," said coach Michael Antoniewicz. "They have all had great seasons which has led to our success in reaching the SAC Tournament Semifinals. To score the amount of goals that Christian and Jacques have is a great achievement at this high level. Robi has shut down a lot of very good strikers and has played a big part in us having five shutouts this year, which is something we are very proud of."

The Cobras will be back in action on Friday (Nov. 15) when they take on the Anderson University Trojans in the SAC men's soccer semifinals at the Mecklenburg County Sportsplex in Matthews, N.C. Live coverage can be found at www.cokercobras.com
