Coker Men’s Soccer Picked Tenth in South Atlantic Conference Preseason Coaches’ Poll

SOUTH ATLANTIC CONFERENCE FULL RELEASE

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker University men's soccer team was picked tenth in the 2019 South Atlantic Conference preseason coaches' poll, announced by the league today (Tuesday, Aug. 20). 

Lenoir Rhyne topped the poll with six first-place votes and 101 points, while Queens (N.C.) received two first-place votes and 100 points. Anderson (S.C.) was voted third with 83 points and one first-place vote. Defending league champion Tusculum finished tied for fourth with Wingate, each receiving one first-place vote and 81 points. Lincoln Memorial (68 points), Carson-Newman (67 points), Newberry (40 points), Mars Hill (38 points), Coker (33 points) and Catawba (23 points) rounded out the poll. 

Coker posted a record of 5-10-1 including a league mark of 3-6-1 in 2018. The Cobras will begin their first season under new head coach Michael Antoniewicz.

The Cobras open the 2019 campaign on the road when they take on regional opponent Southern Wesleyan in Central, S.C. on Sept. 5.
