Men’s Soccer Falls at Home to Lenoir-Rhyne

HARTSVILLE, S.C.- The Coker College men's soccer team fell at home 4-1 on Wednesday (Oct. 3) to the visiting Lenoir-Rhyne University Bears.

The Cobras looked like they would pull ahead early after some nice work by Jacob Simonis got him around the keeper, but his shot was blocked at the last second by a Lenoir-Rhyne defender. At the half, the Cobras found themselves down by three goals.

Lenoir-Rhyne would find the back of the net again in the second half and with just one second to play, Kasper Wallstroem scored his first goal as a Cobra.

Wallstroem led the attack with two shot, with both being on goal and one finding the back of the net. Jacob Simonis and Joao Silva both recorded two shots, while Adam Garner and Christian Provenzano had one. Zach Watson made five saves in goal.

The Cobras will hit the field again this Saturday (Oct. 6) at 3:30 p.m. as they take on Mars Hill in a South Atlantic Conference match.
