Cobras and Pioneers Tussle in SAC Men's Soccer Semifinals

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The No. 6 seed Coker College men's soccer team will take on the No. 2 seed Tusculum College Pioneers on Friday (Nov. 4) in the South Atlantic Conference Tournament semifinals.  Opening kick is set for 7:30 p.m. at Manchester Meadows in Rock Hill, S.C.

The Cobras are coming off a thrilling win in penalty kicks over Lenoir-Rhyne in the SAC quarterfinals.

All-SAC selections Aladdin Elfares and Alvaro Urena continue to lead the way for the Navy and Gold. Elfares, who scored the lone Coker goal in the quarterfinal win, ranks third in the SAC with 10 goals and sixth with 21 points. Urena's seven goals leaves him in a tie for eighth in the SAC, while ranking in the top-20 with 14 points. Justin Walker, who has started the last two matches in goal for Coker, has allowed just two goals in 200 minutes, while collecting 13 saves.

The Pioneers enter the matchup as the No. 2 seed in the SAC Championship tournament and the fifth-ranked team in the latest NSCAA regional ranking. They are led by the 13 goals of Andre De Giorgi.

Opening kick is set for 7:30 p.m. at Manchester Meadows in Rock Hill, S.C. Tickets are $12 for adults, $6 for those under 12 years old, $6 for retired/active military and $2 for college students with valid I.D.
