Cobras and Bears Clash in SAC Tournament Quarterfinals

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The sixth-seeded Coker College men's soccer team will travel to Hickory, N.C. on Tuesday (Nov. 1) to face the No. 3 seed Lenoir-Rhyne University Bears in the South Atlantic Conference Tournament quarterfinals. Opening kick is set for 5 p.m. at Lenoir-Rhyne University.

The Cobras come into the matchup winning two of their last three matches, a 7-7-1 overall record and a 5-6 mark in South Atlantic Conference play.

The Navy and Gold are led by the scoring duo of Aladdin Elfares and Alvaro Urena. Elfares comes into the postseason tied for fourth in the SAC with nine goals, while Urena is tied for sixth with seven goals. Both players are also ranked inside the top-15 in points, Elfares is tied for eighth with 19 points and Urena's 14 points lands him in a tie for 15th.

In goal, Michael Ritterbeck has 52 saves on the season and a 1.96 goals against average in nearly 1100 minutes.

The Bears come into the matchup as the No. 3 seed, finishing the regular season with an 11-4-2 overall record and a 7-3-1 SAC mark. They are led by Ismael Noumansana, who leads the SAC with 16 goals and 33 points. In goal, Zach King ranks first in the SAC with a .810 save percentage and second with a 0.97 goals against average.
