Cobras Pick Up 2-0 Victory over Newberry

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker College men's soccer team took down the Newberry College Wolves on Wednesday (Sept.23) 2-0 in South Atlantic Conference action.

The scoreboard remained untouched during the first half with neither team able to find the twine.

Aladdin Elfares would break open the tie in the 47th minute when he scored off of a David Arensdorf assist to put the Cobras ahead 1-0. The Navy and Gold would strike again this time in the 60th minute when Chris Boardelon buried a pass from Ian Fellenz in the back of the net to put the Cobras out in front 2-0.

Kyndle Cobb was perfect in goal, allowing no goals and picking up two saves between the pipes.

Boardelon and Elfares led the way with a goal each. Boardelon recorded two shots on goal while Elfares took four shots total. Arensdorf and Fellenz each dished out an assist. Jaedon Williamson and Alvaro Urena each registered a shot on goal as well.

The Cobras will have a quick turnaround as they take on Catawba at home on Saturday (Sept. 26). First kick set for 7 p.m.
