Cobras Drop Non-Conference Match to No. 25 Falcons

HARTSVILLE, S.C. The Coker College men's soccer team fell to the No. 25 ranked Pfeiffer University Falcons 4-2 in a non-conference showdown on Sunday (Sept. 13).

The first 45 minutes would see the scoreboard go unchanged as neither team was able to find the back of the net.

However, half two saw a combined six goals scored. The Falcons would strike first with a pair of goals within a two minute span. Connor Norton-Baker would get the Cobras on the board after putting a pass from David Arensdorf in the back of the net to cut the Pfeiffer lead to 2-1. Norton-Baker would remain involved, this time drawing a foul inside the box. Alvaro Urena would be called upon to take the penalty kick which he would net at the 77 minute mark. Another pair of late Pfeiffer goals in the 89th and 90th minute would lead to the Falcons 4-2 win.

Norton-Baker and Urena would lead the way with one goal apiece, while Arensdorf registered an assist.

The Cobras will be back in action on Wednesday (Sept. 16) as they travel to Anderson for their SAC opener. First kick is set for 4:30 p.m.
