Cobras and Wolves Tie 1-1

NEWBERRY, S.C. – The Coker men's soccer team played the Newberry College Wolves to a 1-1 draw on Wednesday (Oct. 22) afternoon in its South Atlantic Conference match.

The Cobras got on the board early with a goal from Connor Norton-Baker in the 15th minute. Norton-Baker took a pass from Matt Taylor and blasted a shot from outside the 18-yard box to give the Cobras the 1-0 lead. 

The score remained in favor of the Navy and Yellow until the Wolves pushed a goal past the Cobra defense in the 61st minute of action. From then on it was all defense, as each team held the other scoreless for a 1-1 tie.

Kyndle Cobb made six saves in the net for the Cobras, while the Coker offense, led by Jordan Snell and his six shots, put 11 shots on frame.

The Cobras will return to Hartsville for their next match, their final home match of the season on Saturday (Oct. 25). They will take on the Pioneers of Tusculum College at 7 p.m. It will be senior day and the Cobras will honor their eight senior players prior to kick-off.
