Cobras Fall to Pacers 3-2

AIKEN, S.C. – The Coker Cobras narrowly lost to the regionally ranked No. 4 USC Aiken Pacers 3-2 on Wednesday (Oct. 15) in a non-conference men's soccer match.

After a scoreless first half, the Cobras were first to strike, taking a 1-0 lead thanks to Tony Quiroz. The senior midfielder put Coker on the board with a penalty kick in the 50th minute. Ten minutes later USCA scored the equalizer, and another three minutes after that the Pacers took a 2-1 lead.

In the 78th minute Ian Fellenz evened the score at two with an assist from Matt Taylor. The score remained tied until the 87th minute when USCA scored its third and final goal, for a 3-2 victory.

Kyndle Cobb made six saves in 90 minutes of action for the Cobras in goal.

The Cobras will return to the pitch for a South Atlantic Conference match at Carson-Newman University on Saturday (Oct. 18). Kick-off is slated for 7 p.m.
