Coker to Battle Mars Hill in Alumni Weekend Match

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker men's soccer team will return home to take on the Lions of Mars Hill University in a South Atlantic Conference match on Saturday (Oct. 11). The match will be broadcast live on www.cokercobras.com.

The Cobras are coming off back-to-back 0-0 draws against Catawba (Oct. 4) and No. 20 Wingate (Oct. 8). Kyndle Cobb has led the way for the Cobras in October. The sophomore goalkeeper has posted two shut outs making 12 saves in the process. Leading the offense is senior Jordan Snell with five goals and three assists for 13 points. He is currently ranked third in the SAC in goals and second in points.

Mars Hill comes to Coker sporting 4-5 record overall. The Lions are 4-2 in conference play and are currently tied for third in the SAC standings. They are coming off a 2-0 win over Lenoir-Rhyne on Wednesday (Oct. 8). Thomas Freitas and Alex Mullen lead the Lion attack. Both players have scored three goals so far this season.

Kick-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Coker Soccer Field. It will be Alumni Day for the Cobras. All Coker alums are encouraged to come out to both the men's and women's matches and tailgate. Tickets for the match are $5 for adults, $3 for students and free to all Coker faculty, staff and students.
