Cobras Fall to Railsplitters in Overtime 2-1

HARROGATE, TENN. -  For the third time in four matches, the Cobra men's soccer team forced the game into overtime, unfortunately, this time Coker came up short with a 2-1 loss to the Lincoln Memorial Railsplitters on Saturday (Sept. 13) in South Atlantic Conference men's soccer action.

After a scoreless first half of action, the Railsplitters were first to strike with a goal just 57 seconds into the second half. LMU held the one goal advantage until Jordan Snell put Coker on the board with the equalizer in the 76th minute. Snell broke through the Railsplitter defense and buried the ball in the back of the net.

The score remained deadlocked through the end of regulation, forcing the match into overtime. Lincoln Memorial broke the tie in the 98th minute, taking home the 2-1 victory.

The Cobras will return to the pitch on Wednesday (Sept. 17) at Lander. Kick-off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
