Cobras to Square Off with Panthers in Non-Conference Matchup

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker College men's soccer team will return to the pitch on Saturday (Sept. 6) to take on the Panthers of Florida Tech. The match will be broadcast live on www.cokercobras.com

The Cobras will be looking to pick up their first win of the 2014 campaign after a 2-2 double-overtime draw against Emmanuel on Thursday. Senior midfielder Jordan Snell has been the offensive catalyst for the Navy and Yellow, netting a goal and dishing out an assist in the season opener.

The Panthers come to Hartsville sporting a 1-0-0 record after a 5-2 victory over St. Thomas. They are led by sophomore forward Adin Kavara who racked up three goals in their opener.

The two teams last met in the 2012 season, with the Panther taking home a 2-1 victory. However, the Cobras lead the all-time series 2-1.

Game time is set for 7 p.m. at the Coker soccer fields. Tickets for the match are $5 for adults, $3 for students and free to all Coker faculty, staff and students.
