Cobras to Face Railsplitters in SAC Quarterfinals Match

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The No. 4 seed Coker men's soccer team will begin its quest for a South Atlantic Conference tournament title on the road against the No. 5 seed Railsplitters of Lincoln Memorial University on Tuesday (Nov. 5). The quarterfinal match is scheduled for a 12:30 p.m. start, and live stats will be available at www.cokercobras.com.

Coker is riding a four-match winning streak, with its last victory being a 6-1 dismantling of Brevard College.

The Cobras have been led all season by goal scoring extraordinaire Daniel Jackson, and playmaking duo Jordan Snell and Chris Martin. Jackson has scored 14 goals on the season, a new Coker single season record, and good for second in the SAC. Snell and Martin lead the team in assists with four apiece, ranking them 10th in the conference.

The Railsplitters enter the match 9-7-1 overall with a 6-4-1 conference mark. Lincoln Memorial is currently on a two-match losing streak, and are led offensively by Mario Pinto's 14 goals and 4 assists.

Coker and Lincoln Memorial battled to a 2-2 double OT draw back in September. Jackson scored Coker's two goals in the contest, while Snell and Martin registered the assists.

The winner of match will advance to the semifinals of the 2013 Food Lion SAC Championship against the winner of the match between the No. 1 seed Queens and the No. 8 seed Catawba. The semifinal match will be played at 4 p.m. on Friday (Nov. 8) at Manchester Meadows in Rock Hill, S.C.
