Cobras Ground Falcons With 2-0 Victory

MISENHEIMER, N.C. – The Coker men's soccer team won their second Conference Carolinas game of the season on Saturday (Sept. 22), defeating the Falcons of Pfeiffer, 2-0.  The Cobras improve to a 4-2 record and are now 2-0 in the conference.

Enrique Barrientos started the action for the Cobras scoring off a pass from teammate Alan CuevasNiko Tirkkonen followed suit scoring just six minutes after Barrientos did, with a goal of his own.  The Cobras were able to take a comfortable 2-0 lead into halftime.

The second half was a game of possession for the Cobras.  The Cobras did not give Pfeiffer any opportunity to score, as they controlled the ball for much of the second half.  The Falcons only took three shots, with one being on target.

All three of Coker's goalkeeper's saw action, but the lone save of the game belonged to James Sweeney.

The Cobras continue on the road as they travel to Francis Marion Wednesday (Sept. 26).  Action is scheduled to commence at 7 p.m.
