No. 7 Cobras Shutout Barton 1-0

WILSON, N.C. – The nationally ranked No. 7 Cobra men continued their hot play with a 1-0 victory over Conference Carolinas foe Barton College on Wednesday evening. Junior Carlos Recinos (Houston, Texas) scored his eighth game-winning goal of the season, improving the Coker to 13-1 overall and 8-0 in conference play.

The win extends the Cobras winning streak to 12 games; the longest active streak in NCAA Division II men's soccer.

Recinos put away the eventual game winner for the Cobras with an assist from Noah Lascell (Myrtle Beach, S.C.) in the opening 10 minutes of play.

Coker outshot the Bulldogs 16-9 with James Sweeney (Huntingtown, Md.) making four saves in the match, while Barton's Brian Riesenberg made nine stops.

The Cobras will be back on the pitch again on Saturday for a home match against conference rival Lees-McRae. Kick-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Coker College Soccer Field.
