Recinos Scores Twice in Coker 2-1 Double OT Win

DUE WEST, S.C. – Junior Carlos Recinos (Houston, Texas) scored both of the Cobras goals in their thrilling 2-1 double overtime win over Erskine College on Wednesday night in their Conference Carolinas opener. Recinos' game winning goal came in the 114th minute off a cross from Rommel Fondin (Palm Bay, Fla.) to give the Cobras the win.

Recinos scored the first goal of the game in the 35th minute with an assist from Jordan Snell (Palm Bay, Fla.). The Flying Fleet tied the game at one off a header by Jake Kimber in the 66th minute and that is where the game remained until Recinos found the back of the net 48 minutes later.

Coker's James Sweeney (Huntingtown, Md.) had four saves in the match, while Erskine's Roberto De La Vina recorded six saves.

The win improves the Cobras to 3-1 overall and 1-0 in conference play, while Erskine falls to 2-2-1 overall and 0-1 in the conference.

The Cobras will be back in action at home on Saturday, Sept. 17 at 7 p.m. against USC-Aiken in a non-conference match.
