Bedoya's Two Assists Push Cobras Past Pacers, 2-1

HARTSVILLE, S.C. –  Freshman Fernando Bedoya (Miami, FL) had an assist on both of the Cobras' goals, as the Cobras were able to take a narrow 2-1 victory against USC-Aiken in a non-conference match on Saturday night.

Coker opened the scoring with a goal from junior Rommel Fondin (Palm Bay,FL) (36:21, F. Bedoya) on a long shot that eluded USC-Aiken freshman keeper Joshua Poissant (Windsor Locks, CT).  Cobra junior Carlos Recinos (Houston, TX) added a goal of his own in the second half to make it 2-1 Coker (61:46, F. Bedoya).  

Joshua Poissant made four saves for the Pacers, including a save late in the second half on Coker junior Eric Stiefield (Eustis, FL) to keep the game at 2-1.  The Pacers' lone goal was an unassisted marker by sophomore Carson Villa (Savannah, GA) (48:38, Unassisted).  Coker junior James Sweeney (Huntingtown, MD) made one save in net for the Cobras.  

Coker improves to 4-1 on the season; USC-Aiken is now 2-5.  

Coker's next game will be against North Greenville in Tigerville, S.C. on September 20, at 6 p.m.
