Lum Gives Coker 2-1 Victory over Florida Tech

MELBOURNE, Fla. – The Coker men's soccer team scored a goal in each half of their 2011 season opener to take home a 2-1 win over Florida Tech on Saturday afternoon. Sophomore Atticus Lum (Advance, N.C.) gave Coker the game winner when he headed in a free kick from Carlos Recinos (Houston, Texas) in the 71st minute.

The Cobras were first to score thanks to junior Rommel Fondin (Palm Bay, Fla.). Fondin found the back of the net off a free kick in the 15th minute. The Panthers of Florida Tech answered with a goal before the half from Ricky Menendez.

James Sweeney (Huntingtown, Md.) got the win in the goal with three saves.

Coker will continue their road trip in Florida on Monday when they take on Rollins College at 7 p.m.
