Men’s Lacrosse Travels to Lincoln Memorial for SAC Championship Quarterfinals

HARTSVILLE, S.C. - The Coker College men's lacrosse team (7-7 overall) will travel to Lincoln Memorial on Tuesday (Apr. 24) to take on the Railsplitters in the South Atlantic Conference Championship quarterfinals. Coker heads into the tournament as the sixth seed, while Lincoln Memorial has been tabbed the third seed. Opening faceoff is at 3 p.m. Live stats and video can be found at www.cokercobras.com.

Heading into tomorrow's contest, Rylee Marsh and Matt Murphy lead the Cobras on the offensive end with 41 and 32 points, respectively. Marsh has buried 22 goals and has dished out a team-best 19 assists, while Murphy has tallied 19 goals and has added 13 assists. Marsh's season total in assists is good for ninth in the South Atlantic Conference. Ethan Irizarry trails Marsh and Murphy with 31 points, recording a team-high 23 goals and adding eight assists.

DeShaun Ormond, Justin Hopkins, and Charles Stafford have hustled for possessions for the Navy and Gold, scooping up 53, 45, and 39 ground balls, respectively. Ormond's total in ground balls is good for 10th in the conference. Defensively, Ormond has caused a team-best 25 turnovers, good for second in the conference, while Cole Theodoropoulos has added 14 for the 10th best mark in the SAC. In between the pipes, Chris Hagy has accumulated 129 saves (fourth in the SAC) and has a 50.4 save percentage.

Lincoln Memorial enters tomorrow's contest with a 13-3 overall record and a 6-2 mark in South Atlantic Conference play. Offensively, the Railsplitters are led by Adam Golia with 101 points, the highest total in the conference.
