Men’s Lacrosse Welcomes Embry-Riddle Sunday Afternoon

HARTSVILLE, S.C. - The Coker College men's lacrosse team will welcome the visiting Embry-Riddle University Eagles to the Coker Athletic Field Sunday (Feb. 25) afternoon for a non-conference game. Opening faceoff is set for 2 p.m. Live stats and video can be found by visiting www.cokercobras.com.

Just three games into the year, Ethan Irizarry leads the Cobras on the offensive end with eight points, burying five goals and dishing out three assists. Joe Venazio trails Irizarry with seven points, recording four goals and two assists, while Matt Murphy has added six points off of four goals and two assists. Senior attackman Rylee Marsh has four points so far, while Justin Hopkins and Denton Wilks have tallied three points each.

Hopkins and DeShaun Ormond have been groundball machines for the Navy and Gold, each gathering a team-best 11 ground balls. Defensively, James Brugger has caused a team-high six turnovers and Ormond has added five. In between the pipes, Chris Hagy has accumulated 37 saves and has a 56.1 save percentage.

Embry-Riddle heads into tomorrow's contest with a 0-3 record. Kyle Dalrymple leads the Eagles offensively with seven points from seven goals.

As mentioned, opening face off is set for 2 p.m. at the Coker Athletic Field. Tickets for the game are $5 for adults, $3 for students and free to all Coker faculty, staff and students.
