Cobras Beat Crusaders 15-7 in Non-Conference Tilt

TIGERVILLE, S.C. – The Coker men's lacrosse team picked up a 15-7 non-conference win over the North Greenville University Crusaders on Saturday (Mar. 21) night. The win improves the Cobras to 5-3 overall on the season.

The Cobras trailed only once in the game, falling behind 1-0 to the Crusaders in the opening minutes. The Cobras would rattle off six unanswered goals to close out the first period. The Navy and Yellow would head into the break up 10-3 over the Crusaders. The Cobras would add five second half goals, while giving up four to finish the game with a score of 15-7.

Josh Wassum led the attack with four goals, while Rylee Marsh netted three goals and handed out an assist. Mike Martiello finished with three points on two goals and an assist and Shane Wilson chipped in two goals. John Bretton, Brad Clements, Austin Holgate and Ryan Vento each found the back of the net once, while Josh Smith and Mikey Mazzola each handed out an assist. Defensively, Tim Ryan registered 11 saves in 60 minutes of action.

Coker will hit the road for a critical SAC game against Wingate University on Wednesday (Mar. 24) night. The game is scheduled for a 7 p.m. start
