Cobras Take on Tornados in Pivotal SAC Matchup

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker men's lacrosse team will play host to the Brevard College Tornados on Sunday (Mar. 30) in a South Atlantic Conference showdown.

Coker is looking to improve upon its 2-2 SAC mark, which sits the Cobras one spot out of the top four and a birth in the conference tournament. Offensively, the Navy and Yellow have two or more players in the top five of every major offensive category. They are led by sophomores Mike Martiello and Shane Wilson. Martiello is the SAC leader in goals (28), points (45) and shots (67), while Wilson ranks second with 26 goals. Senior Ryan Maurer is the league's top assist man with 21 helpers and defensively, goalie Tim Ryan is having a stellar junior campaign between the pipes with 125 saves, which ranks second in the SAC.

The Tornados come to town sporting a 1-3 conference mark and 3-7 overall record after a 16-5 non-conference loss to Florida Tech. Brevard is led offensively and defensively by the duo of Mathew Dropuljic and Andrew Reilly. Dropuljic ranks fourth in the SAC with 20 goals, while Reilly has a league-leading 168 saves.

The game is set to begin at 1 p.m. at Byerly Park in Hartsville. Live coverage of the game will be available at www.cokercobras.com.
