Ryan Earns SAC Defensive Player of the Week Honors

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – Coker College men's lacrosse player Tim Ryan has been named the South Atlantic Conference Men's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week, the league office announced today. Ryan is the third men's lacrosse player to receive a SAC weekly award for the Cobras this season.

Ryan, a goalie, led Coker to a 1-1 record on the week with stellar play between the pipes. He made 27 saves in the two matches – 17 against Queens and 10 against Ohio Valley. He also picked up three ground balls and caused a turnover on the week.

This season, Ryan averages 13 saves per game and ranks second in the SAC with 78 saves. His save percentage of 52.0 ranks seventh in the conference. Earlier this season, Ryan set a single-game record with 20 saves against Mount Olive and has made double-digit saves in all but one contest.

A junior from Glocester, R.I., Ryan is a criminology major. He is the son of Jane and Bob Ryan.
