Coker Picks Up 15-9 Road Win Against Ohio Valley

PARKERSBURG, W. VA. – A trio of Cobras scored three or more goals in the Coker men's lacrosse team's 15-9 win over Ohio Valley University on Saturday (Mar. 8). Shane Wilson, Mike Martiello and Andy Campos each scored a hat trick to help the Cobras improve to 3-3 on the year.

Coker took an early 3-1 lead in the first quarter of action with goals from Wilson, Martiello and Campos. Three more goals in the second quarter pushed Coker to a 6-3 lead heading into halftime. Five goals in the third quarter gave the Cobras an 11-5 advantage heading into the final stanza of action. The Cobras would then add on four more goals in the fourth quarter to take home the 15-9 victory.

Wilson led the attack with four goals, while Martiello had three goals and a pair of assists. Campos finished the day with three goals and three assists, and Ryan Maurer added two goals and three assists. Timothy Smith chipped in two goals, while Mike Maresca scored the only other goal of the day for Coker.

Tim Ryan continued his hot streak between the pipes with 10 more saves.  He is now second in the league in saves with 78 on the year. 

The Cobras will return home for their next game on Thursday (Mar. 13) at noon against Dominican College.
