Cobras Looking to Dethrone Royals in SAC Matchup

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker men's lacrosse team will play host to South Atlantic Conference foe Queens University of Charlotte on Wednesday (Mar.5).

The Cobras come into the match with a 2-2 record overall and perfect 1-0 conference mark after suffering a 13-6 non-conference loss to Mount Olive. The Navy and Yellow are led offensively by sophomore Mike Martiello and senior Andy Campos. Martiello leads the team with 18 points (10 goals, eight assists) and Campos comes in second with 15 points (eight goals, seven assists). Both are among the conference leaders in points, Martiello is third, while Campos is fifth. Junior goalkeeper Tim Ryan will look to keep up his exceptional play between the pipes. Ryan is second in the conference in saves with 51 through four games. He also looks to improve upon his 13.24 goals against average.

Queens comes into the contest with a 2-2 record overall after a close 8-7 victory over Florida Tech. The battle with the Cobras will be the first SAC matchup of the season for the Royals. They are led offensively by Garrett Chan and Matthew Michael who come in with 12 and nine points, respectively.
