Coker Looking to Take Down Mount Olive in Non-Conference Tilt

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker men's lacrosse team will host the University of Mount Olive Trojans in a non-conference matchup on Saturday (Mar. 1) at Byerly Park.

The Cobras are 2-1 overall and 1-0 in conference play after a superb second half defensive performance in their 15-10 win against Wingate University in their last game. Mike Martiello leads a quartet of players who have registered double-digit points through the first three games of the season. Martiello has 15 points on eight goals and a team-high seven assists. Andy Campos is second on the team with 13 points on six goals and seven assists, while John Bretton and Shane Wilson have scored a team-high 10 goals apiece and handed out one assist each. The defensive duo of John Elliott and Max Baltzer has combined for 16 ground balls and nine caused turnovers. In goal, Tim Ryan has stopped 31 shots for a 44.3 save percentage in 176 minutes of action so far this season.

Mount Olive is 2-1 overall following a 15-14 triple-overtime loss to Wingate. Matt Shields leads the Trojans with 11 points on seven goals and four assists, while Cameron Walsh has six assists and four goals on the season for 10 points. Ross Bowman has 22 saves in 125 minutes between the pipes.
