Coker to Host Lees-McRae in Final Game of the Season Saturday

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – On Saturday (Apr. 13) the Coker men's lacrosse team will host the Lees-McRae Bobcats in its final Conference Carolinas game of the season. Live stats will be available at www.cokercobras.com.

The Cobras are coming off a 16-8 win over Young Harris. Ryan Maurer was the driving force behind the victory, scoring seven goals and handing out four assists against the Mountain Lions. Keith LaClair also added four goals and an assist.

Over the last two games the Cobras have outscored their opponents 28-17, while picking up 100 ground balls.

Individually, Maurer leads the team in points with 49 (25 goals and 24 assists) and LaClair leads the team in goals with 27 and is second in points with 37. John Bretton and Timothy Smith have also reached the 20-point mark. Bretton has scored 11 goals with nine assists, while Smith has scored13 goals with seven assists.

The Bobcats (0-14, 0-5 Conf. Carolinas) lost their most recent contest to Belmont Abbey 17-7. Jeff White leads the team in goals with 17 and Dalton Lamb is second with 11.

Face-off is set for 2:00 p.m. at Byerly Park in Hartsville. Prior to the face-off the Cobras will honor their four seniors, Josh Masciarelli, Steve Marciano, Tom Elliott and Johnathan Jenkins, with a special Senior Day ceremony.
