Coker Set to Battle Young Harris on Wednesday

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker Cobras and the Young Harris Mountain Lions will take to the field for a non-conference men's lacrosse game on Wednesday (Apr. 10). The game will start at 3 p.m. at Byerly Park in Hartsville. Live stats will be available at www.cokercobras.com.

Coker picked up its second victory at home, defeating Lenoir-Rhyne 12-9 on Apr. 6. The Cobras are now 2-2 when playing at Byerly Park this season. Keith LaClair and Steven Zolezzi led the Coker attack against L-R, scoring four goals apiece, while Tim Ryan made 14 saves in the net to lead the defense.

LaClair is Coker's leading goal scorer with 23 tallies on the year, while Ryan Maurer leads the team in points with 38 on 18 goals and 20 assists. A total of six Cobras have scored 10 or more goals this season, including Mike Martiello and Timothy Smith with 13 each, Zolezzi has netted 12 goals and John Bretton has scored 10.

The Young Harris Mountain Lions (5-4) are coming off a 7-5 loss to Piedmont on Apr. 6. Ryan Ningard has scored 18 goals the season to lead the Lions, while Ronnie Adams has 17 goals and 10 assists. In the net, Bobby Parker has compiled a 3-1 record, making 57 saves and allowing just 40 goals.

The Cobras have just two games remaining in the season, Wednesday's game against Young Harris and their final game of the year on Saturday (Apr. 13) at home against Lees-McRae.
