Coker Men's Golf Finishes Day One of Queens Invitational

KANNAPOLIS, N.C. – At The Club at Irish Creek, the Coker University men's golf team finished sixteenth after two rounds of play in the Queens Invitational on Monday (Oct. 21).  Finishing with a combined team score of 593 (+6) after day one.

Freshmen Killian Ryan and Frederick Tindale led the way for the Cobras, as they both shot a 147 (+5). Ryan's best round came on the front nine in round two, when he shot one under par (34) with two birdies. Tindale finished strong on the back nine in round two, shooting a 34 (-2) with seven total birdies on the day.

Sophomore Coleman Bess was just two strokes behind, shooting a 149 (+7). Bess' best round came on the front nine in round two, as he shot one under par (34) with three birdies. Junior Haydon Norwood shot a 152 (+10), and Nicholas Beiers finished at 156 (+14). Norwood shot for eagle on hole 13 in round one, and Beiers birdied twice.

The Cobras will be back in action on Tuesday (Oct. 22) when they complete round three of the Queens Invitational. Tee time is set for 8:30 a.m., a shotgun start. Live scoring of the event can be found at www.cokercobras.com
