NORMAN, Okla. - Four Coker University men's golf student-athletes were named as Srixon/Cleveland Golf Division II All-America Scholars, announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America today (Wednesday, July 24).
Ethan Cairns, Daniel Graves, Zachary Herold and Wanjoo Lee were selected from Coker University, amongst 112 selections from Division II and a record 541 honorees between Divisions I, II, III, NAIA and NJCAA. This is Cairns's first career All-America Scholar honor, while Graves, Herold and Lee were each selected in 2017-18.
To be eligible for Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar status an individual must be a junior or senior academically in Division I, II, III, and NAIA, or receiving their Associate's Degree and in there last year of athletic eligibility in the NJCAA. In addition, they participate in 50-percent of his team's competitive rounds, have a stroke-average under 76.0 in Division I, 78.0 in Division II, 78.0 in NAIA and 79.0 in Division III, 77.0 in NJCAA, and maintain a minimum cumulative career grade-point average of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at his college or university.
Cairns competed in nine tournaments and 25 rounds as a senior for the Cobras, averaging a score of 74.16. Cairns was also named to the South Atlantic Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll in 2018-19. The Davie, Fla. native is the son of Laura and David Cairns.
Graves played in six tournaments and 16 total rounds as a senior, turning in an average of 75.13. He was also named to the SAC Commissioner's Honor Roll. The Longs, S.C. native is the son of Michael and Mary Ann Graves.
Herold played in seven tournaments and 19 total rounds as a senior for the Cobras, averaging a mark of 76.84. The Lexington, S.C. native is the son of Pam, Shawn, Trey and Laura Herold.
Lee played in eight tournaments and 22 rounds as a senior, turning in a 72.68 average. He was named to the All-Tournament Team for his performance at the 2018-19 South Atlantic Conference Championships (Apr. 14-16). The Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago native is the son of Deuksoo Choi and Eundae Lee.
