Wanjoo Lee Opens Spring Season With Win at Spring Kickoff Intercollegiate

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. - The Coker College men's golf team finished off the opening tournament of their spring season on Tuesday (Feb. 12), finishing in a tie for eighth.

Wanjoo Lee led the way for the Cobras, taking home medalist honors after firing off a final round 71 (-1) to close out the tournament at -3 and two shots ahead of the closest opponent. Lee stumbled out of the gate, dropping two strokes in the opening six holes before closing strong. Lee finished off the front nine with three consecutive birdies to make the turn at -1 on the day and -3 for the tournament. He was his usual consistent self over the final nine holes, shooting even par on the back nine to secure the title.

Zachary Herold finished in a tie for 47th place after improving his score for the second consecutive round, ending the tournament with a 76 (+4). Ethan Cairns was right behind Herold in a tie for 54th following his final round 79 (+7). Trey Salley finished in a tie for 69th after his final round 84 (+12), while Haydon Norwood came in tied for 78th after his 82 (+10) today.

The Cobras will hit the course again on Monday (Mar. 4) and Tuesday (Mar. 5) for the Southern Tide Intercollegiate in Greenville, S.C.
