Coker Men's Golf Earns No. 17 National Ranking, Wanjoo Lee 51st

HARTSVILLE, S.C.- The Coker College men's golf team earned the No. 17 ranking in the country in NCAA D-II, and junior Wanjoo Lee was rated the 51st best D-II golfer, which was released in the latest Golfstat rankings announced on Wednesday (Nov. 1).

The Cobras, who completed their fall schedule on Tuesday (Oct. 17), secured one tournament championship at the Queens University Collegiate Invitational (Oct. 18-19), while picking up four top-five finishes in their first four tournaments. Additionally, Wanjoo Lee has been masterful on the course for Coker, bringing home an Individual Title at the Myrtle Beach Intercollegiate (Oct. 2-3).

"It's great to see that the team is performing well," Coker head men's golf coach Adam Goins said. "We're trying to prove ourselves to be one of the best teams in the country. Wanjoo has been a great leader on the golf course, which helps translate into great production by Nicolas Parra, Daniel Graves, Ethan Cairns, and Zachary Herold."

Having come up just short in last season's regional play, Goins stated, "This year we are seeking revenge at regionals and we'll use this offseason to push hard and prepare ourselves for the spring."

Goins continued by saying, "Bringing in transfers such as Herold and Parra, adds depth to our roster and it has only made us a stronger team on a more consistent basis. We are able to go out and compete at a high level."

The Navy and Gold will kick-off its spring season on Feb. 11, when they travel to Orange Park, Fla. for the Spring Kick-Off Intercollegiate at the Fleming Island Golf Club.
