Final Round Surge Pushes Cobras to Sixth Place Finish at Hargett Memorial Invitational

MONROE, N.C. – The Coker men's golf team shot a season-low team score of 283 on Tuesday (Mar. 17) in the final round of the Hargett Memorial Invitational. Coker finished in a tie for sixth with a tournament score of 896. Their final round was eight strokes lower than any team score recorded on Tuesday and the lowest single round team score of the tournament.

Will Bundy and Jonathan Sundstrom led the charge for the Navy and Yellow. Bundy fired a final round 69 to finish with tournament total of 221. Sundstrom matched his tournament score of 221 after a final round 70. Both finished in a tie for 11th place. Alex Rios was not far behind with a three round score of 222 after a closing round of 71. He finished in a tie for 16th. Blake Baysden and John Duke rounded out the traveling five with individual scores of 232 and 244. Baysden rebounded with a final round 73, while Duke shot an 83 in his final 18 holes.

Tusculum College took home the team title with a tournament score of 885. Leennawat Numpituckc of King University was the low medalist after shooting a 54-hole score of 212.

The Cobras have a quick turnaround and will be back on the course on Monday (Mar. 23) as they travel to Greenwood, S.C. for the Bearcat Golf Classic hosted by Lander University.
