Coker Men’s Golf 12th After Day One at Pirate Invitational

POOLER, GA. – The Coker College men's golf team is in 12th place after the first 36 holes of the Pirate Invitational hosted by Armstrong Atlantic State University. The Cobras finished day one with a team total of 611 after rounds of 312 and 299.

The Navy and Yellow were led by Will Bundy who shot rounds of 77 and 70 for a day one total of 147. Alex Rios and Blake Baysden finished the day with totals of 153 and 156. Rios shot rounds of 80 and 73 while Baysden followed a morning round of 77 with an afternoon round of 79. Jonathan Sundstrom and John Duke rounded out the traveling five with 36-hole totals of 157 and 159. Sundstrom carded rounds of 80 and 77 while Duke signed off on rounds of 78 and 81.

South Atlantic Conference foe Wingate University finds itself atop the team leaderboard with rounds of 284 and 286 for a day one total of 570. They are just one stroke ahead of second place Nova Southeastern. Benedict Gebhardt of Wingate and Carr Vernon of CSU-Monterey Bay are the individual leaders with day one scores of 140.

Tee times will begin Tuesday (Feb. 24) morning at Savannah Quarters Country Club.
